How to Install a Motogadget mo.unit blue on a Cafe Racer

Rewiring a custom motorcycle can be one of the more intimidating parts of a cafe racer build, but a Motogadget mo.unit blue can dramatically simplify the electrical system. In this Workshop guide, we go through a complete mo.unit blue installation on a 1982 Honda CB750 cafe racer, from the initial battery connections through to the finished ignition and starter system.

The installation covers the major electrical circuits including the rear light, headlight, high beam, brake light, handlebar switches, ignition, regulator and spark units, starter solenoid and starter motor. We also look at pairing the mo.unit blue with a phone and the overall wiring diagram used for the installation.

The mo.unit blue effectively becomes the heart of the motorcycle's electrical system, replacing much of the conventional fuse and relay arrangement with a compact digital control unit. For anyone rewiring a cafe racer, bobber or other custom motorcycle, understanding how the system works can make planning and troubleshooting the wiring much easier.
