Moto Guzzi 850 Café Racer Build – Fuel Tank Swap & Frame Chopping

The Moto Guzzi 850 café racer build takes a major step forward with a custom fuel tank swap and frame modifications. In this stage of the Tink Customs project we remove the original tank, chop the frame to accommodate the new tank, work on the gauge cluster and wiring, install LED gauge lights and look at the foot peg position as the Guzzi begins to take on a completely new shape.

With the original fuel tank coming off, it's time to start making some serious changes to the Guzzi. We get into the wiring, LED gauge lights, gauge cluster, foot peg position and, inevitably, the cutting wheels as we start modifying the frame.

This is where the Moto Guzzi 850 café racer project really starts to change shape. The custom fuel tank completely alters the look we're aiming for, but getting it to fit means making some permanent changes to the motorcycle.

The bike is still very much a work in progress and there are plenty more decisions to make as this ambitious custom motorcycle build develops. I'm trying to tackle the project in individual sections so we can explore the different possibilities — and I'd love to hear what you think of the direction it's heading.
