977 Kawasaki KZ650 Cafe Racer | Stripping Down the Bike

The 1977 Kawasaki KZ650 Cafe Racer build gets underway as we strip down the bike, remove parts for sale and start making some big decisions about the direction of the build.

The seat gets chopped, the original front end comes under scrutiny, and we look at the possibility of fitting forks from a 2003 Yamaha R6. We also take a look at the chain, exhaust, fuel tank, rear shocks and side covers as the KZ650 starts its transformation into a custom cafe racer.

This is the first major teardown of the KZ650 and the point where the plans for the build really start to take shape.
