Fitting Rear Wheel, New Bearing, Brake Shoes, Chain and Shocks

The 1977 Kawasaki KZ650 Cafe Racer rear end gets rebuilt as we refit the rear wheel, brake drum, new wheel bearings, rear sprocket, chain and new shock absorbers.

With the freshly painted components ready for assembly, we start by fitting the rear sprocket and putting the rear wheel back into the bike. The brake drum and pedal are refitted, followed by the new motorcycle chain and adjustment of the chain tension using the newly painted chain adjusters.

The final job is fitting the new rear shock absorbers, completing a major part of the KZ650's rear-end rebuild. With the wheel, brakes, chain and suspension back in place, the rear of the cafe racer is starting to look much more like the finished bike.
