Kawasaki KZ650 Custom Exhaust & Paint Prep

The 1977 Kawasaki KZ650 Cafe Racer moves into the next stage of the build as we look at ideas for a custom exhaust system and prepare the fuel tank and body panels for paint.

With the KZ650 stripped down, we work through the paint preparation, including filler and enamel badge removal, while considering how the new exhaust will work with the finished bike. We also remove the centre stand and start planning a custom rear tail light.

The KZ650 will eventually receive a teal metallic candy apple paint finish, with the custom exhaust and rear-end details helping complete the new cafe racer design.
