Kawasaki KZ650 Clutch & Throttle Cables | Fitting & Adjustment

The 1977 Kawasaki KZ650 Cafe Racer gets its clutch and throttle cables fitted and adjusted, with careful attention to cable routing and smooth operation on the rebuilt motorcycle.

We modify the throttle grip assembly before fitting the new throttle grip and cable, then work through the adjustments needed to get the throttle operating correctly. The clutch cable is also fitted and adjusted, with the aim of achieving the right amount of free play and smooth, predictable operation.

We also continue working on the KZ650's final assembly, including looking at the best way to mount the GPS speedometer and working out how to securely fit the custom cafe racer seat. Getting the cables correctly fitted and adjusted is one of those small but important jobs that makes a big difference to how a rebuilt motorcycle feels and operates.
