Frame Chop Ducati Monster 695 Café Racer

The Ducati Monster 695 café racer build continues with more of the motorcycle stripped down and the first major cuts made to the frame. This 2007 Ducati Monster is already revealing a few horrors beneath the surface, but the custom motorcycle project is beginning to take shape.

With the handlebars flipped and turned down, the riding position looks good enough that clip-ons may not be necessary after all. Attention then turns to the fuel system, where the emissions equipment is removed and the huge original airbox is taken out to make way for individual air pod filters.

The original fuel lines are also rerouted away from the cylinders. Given the condition of the old hoses, keeping them further from the heat of the engine makes sense for both durability and reliability.

The Monster's ignition coils are next under consideration for relocation. Moving them will mean rerouting some of the wiring and potentially fitting longer HT leads to reach the spark plugs.

Then it's time to make the first cuts to the rear frame as the design for the custom single-seat café racer starts to take shape. The fuel tank is also removed and prepared for its eventual new paint finish. his stage of the Ducati Monster 695 custom motorcycle build is all about stripping away the original components, working out what stays and what goes, and laying the foundations for the finished café racer.
