Mods, Pods and Rockers | Ducati Monster Cafe Racer

The Ducati Monster 695 café racer build continues with custom motorcycle modifications including pod air filters, new fuel lines, relocated ignition coils and a reworked electrical tray. This 2007 Ducati Monster is gradually being stripped of its original components and prepared for its new café racer configuration.

With the enormous factory airbox removed, individual air pod filters are fitted as a replacement. The original fuel lines are found to be badly deteriorated, so new lines are routed under the battery tray and further away from the heat generated by the cylinders.

The electrical tray is also reworked, while the ignition coils are relocated to a cleaner position. This requires some wiring changes and slightly longer HT leads to reach the spark plugs.

Not every idea works out. An attempt to take a mould of the seat turns into a messy and ultimately useless exercise, while new throttle grips require some modification to get them fitted correctly.

Various covers are also prepared and painted, and new brake pads are fitted as the Ducati Monster café racer build continues.

This episode is another step in transforming the Monster 695 from a standard naked motorcycle into a stripped-back custom café racer, with the intake, fuel system, electrics and controls all being modified along the way.
