How to Wrap the Exhaust

The Ducati Monster 695 café racer gets a custom exhaust wrap using lava wrap as this custom motorcycle build continues with electrical work, LED lighting and more paint testing. The exhaust wrap is the main focus as the Ducati Monster moves closer to its final café racer configuration.

The custom exhaust is wrapped with lava wrap to help manage heat around the motorcycle, while exhaust baffles are tested to see how much they reduce the sound. The result is only around a 5-decibel reduction, and the traditional wire-wool solution isn't practical for this particular exhaust.

More work continues on the custom LED rear light and electrical wiring, while the custom billet foot pegs are fitted and secured using lock washers and a locking nut.

The fuel tank paint job also takes an unfortunate turn, sending the project back to the drawing board for a proper 2K paint finish. Different paint options are tested in the search for the right look. This stage of the Ducati Monster 695 café racer build combines custom exhaust work, motorcycle electrics, LED lighting, fabrication and paint experimentation as the custom motorcycle project approaches completion.
