Building a Lancia Stratos Replica

This is the beginning of the Tink Customs journey to build a Lancia Stratos replica from a Lister Bell kit and turn it into a road-going car inspired by one of the most iconic rally cars ever built.

The Stratos has always been a special car, and building a modern interpretation of it is a project that combines fabrication, engineering, mechanical work and a rather unhealthy obsession with getting the details right.

At the heart of this build is an Alfa Romeo Busso V6, with the Lister Bell kit providing the starting point for what will eventually become a complete, fully finished Stratos replica.

The build covers everything from assembling the major components and installing the engine to fabrication, modifications, finishing and all the little jobs that inevitably appear when you're turning a kit car into a proper road-going car.

This isn't intended to be a concours replica of the original Lancia. It's a modern interpretation of the Stratos — built to capture the look, character and spirit of the legendary rally car while creating something that can actually be driven and enjoyed.

This video starts the journey.

From a collection of parts and a very ambitious plan to a finished Lister Bell Stratos, this is the story of building the car — and eventually getting it out of the workshop and onto the road.
