BMW K75 Cafe Racer Seat Frame | Rear Subframe & Frame Modification

After trying several different approaches to the rear of the BMW K75, the seat frame problem finally gets solved in this episodeof the cafe racer build recycling parts of the original frame.

With the final design taking shape, the remaining factory frame sections are cut down, shortened and reshaped to create the rear subframe needed for the custom seat. A pipe bender is used to put the correct angles into the tubing and get the new frame sections sitting in the right position.

Because the rear frame is being heavily modified, strength is an important consideration. Internal frame sleeves are fabricated to reinforce the joins, providing a solid foundation for the custom rear subframe before everything is welded together.

The result is a much cleaner and more purposeful rear section, with the seat angle, frame geometry and overall cafe racer proportions finally coming together.

In this episode
