BMW K75 Clutch, Throttle & Choke Cable Adaptation
Fitting aftermarket controls to a BMW K75 can create a surprisingly awkward problem: the original clutch, throttle and choke cables don't necessarily work with the new levers and controls.
Rather than replacing all the original cables with expensive custom-made items, this stage of the cafe racer build focuses on adapting the existing BMW cables to work with the new controls.
The adapted clutch lever is finally hooked up and working before attention turns to the throttle. The original throttle cable housing is modified and the cable fitted to the new control.
The choke cable gets similar treatment. Using a cable soldering kit and solder-on cable end nipples, the original cable can be adapted to suit the new setup. Once everything is installed, the choke cable is adjusted to give smooth operation.

This is one of those jobs that looks simple until you actually try to make everything fit. A little careful modification can save the cost of replacing perfectly good original cables, while still giving the bike the modern controls and cleaner cockpit layout wanted for the cafe racer build.
For anyone building a BMW K75, BMW K-series custom or cafe racer and fitting aftermarket controls, this is a useful look at adapting the original cables rather than starting from scratch.
